Elite Farriers is a new concept in the care of top quality performance horses. We specialise in giving you and your horse all the time and attention you need to achieve your best. We not only work to achieve soundness but to find any marginal gains that can be achieved through a thorough and comprehensive farriery process. Critical feedback is not only accepted but welcome as it allows a deeper understating of what the rider/trainer is seeing or feeling. Utilising a proactive approach to prevent injury and improve performance we may be just what you and your horse need to take the next step.

Elite Farriery is led by an experienced professional Master Farrier of the Worshipful Company Of Farriers, holding the AWCF (Associate of the Worshipful Company Of Farriers) which is a much higher remedial assessment. The AWCF examination was also passed with the highest grade for the year – ensuring you are receiving the best farriery possible. With well over a decade of careful research and refining of shoeing methods, plus ongoing study we are well placed to help you and your team achieve great things.

Based centrally in the South of England we are well placed to look after the demands of the discerning rider/owner and their horses. We are willing to travel practically nationally to fulfil your requirements and maximise your success. People use our services for both short-term remedial care – getting back on the road to success following issues, and long-term, regular shoeing care.

Our Bespoke Service

Our farriery service differs enormously from that of a regular farrier. Normally a farrier will spend around an hour shoeing your horse and then move on to the next. This allows him /her to keep costs down through the economies of scale.

We understand that sometimes horses and riders will need far more from their farrier. We take the time to watch you and your horse, both in hand and under saddle  – after all, this is where you work together when competing! We then will discuss with you any concern and involve other professionals such as veterinary surgeons, physios and trainers/coaches. From this wealth of knowledge and information, we can make a detailed shoeing plan and implement it. This will allow us to help you achieve your best and steal those extra points or seconds that might take you from third to first. Basically, our aim is simple – to achieve the best and support and protect your horse whilst doing it!

Remedial work following injury is also very important to you and your competition horse. We understand that one month off of work often means three out of competing. We are well equipped to achieve an efficient recovery alongside your usual team.

We work in an unrushed and professional manner. We dedicate ourselves to your horse for as long as is required. We use the best products available to us, to help us achieve the elite farriery you and your horse deserve.

We are pleased to offer our customers the option of you visiting us at Bow Lake Equestrian with your horse, where good assessment conditions are available, or us visiting you at your yard.
